Do I lose my old email messages when I switch hosts?

If you are not using webmail on your current email provider to check your email and instead are using Outlook, Thunderbird, Mail, or another email client you wont lose your old email messages because they are stored on your computer.

If you are using webmail your email messages are not stored on your computer, instead they are stored on the email server. So if you switch servers all of your messages will not be transferred. There is a way to transfer messages from server to server, but it has to be done one email address at a time and either Outlook or Thunderbird has to be used to do the transfer. I can do this for you, but there will be an extra charge depending on how many email addresses have to be transferred.
