Getting Started with Exchange Server

1. Export Email Data.

First thing to do is backup your existing mail data. Not only are we doing this incase the Outlook install fails (you will have a backup of the data in the chance it gets corrupted), but we will use that backup file to import your mail into the new mail proflle that is needed to access the new exchange server.

2. Log onto MyServices admin panel.

After your email admin activates your new Exchange Mail account you should recieve an email that has your email address and temporary password. Use this email address and password to log into MyServices admin panel. Here you will set a new password, change your display name, download Outlook, and download the Profile Helper.

3. Install Outlook 2010.

Installing Outlook should be pretty straight forward. The install should leave your email untouched, but you should have backed up your email in step one anyway. When you downloaded your copy of Outlook you should have been emailed the registration key. If for some reason you cant find it ask your email admin for another key.

4. Run Profile Helper.

The Profile Helper that you installed will autmatically configure a new profile with the correct settings for your mailbox and exchange server. The Profile Helper creates a new profile for the Exchange Server. It will look like all our old email is gone, but it is now under another profile.

5. Import Email Data into Outlook.

Instead of flliping back between the two profiles that you now have in Outlook, you will now need to import the email data that you saved in step one. This will not only import your email into Outlook, but it will also start the syncrization process with the exchange server to allow you to access your email anywhere.

6. Finished.

You should be all set to use your new exchange mailbox via Outlook. Below are links to various other features you might be interested in:
